Immeasurably cute
My Metalhead Neighbor
This is officially one of the CUTEST manga I've ever read in my entire life! It's going into my ranking of favorites, and as soon as it's released in print here in Brazil (I hope it will be), I'll be the first to buy it!
My Metalhead Neighbor, or Tonari no Metaller-san, is a manga that, unfortunately, only has 2 chapters translated into Portuguese, but if you make an effort, you can find it complete in English! And I'm telling you, that effort is worth it, because the manga is simply BEAUTIFUL! It's simple, delicate, light and very cute!
It tells the story of Kento, a young man who one day gets caught in a snowstorm and nearly doesn't make it, but his neighbor Koichi saves him and takes care of him until he recovers. When Kento recovers, he realizes that Koichi is a “METALHEAD”, who dresses in black, is kind of gloomy and has a scary look. However, it doesn't take long for Kento to realize that behind all that bad-boy look there is actually a sensitive guy with a big heart.
Kento and Koichi become friends and start having dinner together every day. Koichi turns out to be a great cook, unlike Kento, who is rather sloppy. Over time, Kento develops feelings for his friend, and although he's openly gay, he doesn't know how to tell him, because he's afraid of ruining the friendship. So their friendship keeps unfolding, the feelings deepen, and a lot happens, until we reach an ending that is surprising.
It's a short manga to read over a weekend, but it's totally worth it, because it's one of the cutest works out there, and Koichi, despite being a “METALHEAD”, is such a lovable character that you just want to protect him! Anyway, I highly recommend this work, and I suggest that, if it really gets published in Brazil as they say online, you buy it to support the author and have this beauty on your shelf.
